Open the file you downloaded — three steps to go.

Illustrations show where to click. Screens and their order vary with your Windows language, settings and version. Skip any prompt that does not appear.

Four screens you might see, and what to do next.

Edge says the file “isn’t commonly downloaded”

Check that the source is karuzip.com and the file name is Karuzip-Setup.exe. In Downloads, open the file’s (…) menu and select Keep. If asked again, select Show more, then Keep anyway. Labels may vary by Edge version.

SmartScreen or “Unknown publisher” appears

The official EXE currently has no Windows code signature, so Windows cannot verify its publisher. Check that you obtained the file from the official site before choosing More info → Run anyway in SmartScreen. If Windows asks to allow changes, check the file name and select Yes. You can also compare the published SHA-256.

No “Run anyway” button, Smart App Control, or a managed PC

Smart App Control, S mode or your organization’s policy may prevent the EXE from running. On Windows 11, use the Microsoft Store version below or ask your administrator. You do not need to disable security protections.

The browser reports a virus or a dangerous file

This is different from an unfamiliar-app prompt. Stop and contact support@karuzip.com with the warning text. Read Microsoft’s explanation of SmartScreen.

Here’s where to find your download

Once the download finishes, double-click Karuzip-Setup.exe in your Downloads folder. You can also open your browser’s downloads with Ctrl + J.

If you want to use the CLI after installation

The official EXE includes karuzip-cli.exe and adds its installation folder to your user PATH. Open a new PowerShell window and run karuzip-cli --json actions to list the six actions. The Store edition does not include the CLI.
