How to extract a ZIP or 7z file

  1. Drop the archive onto the Extract tab or choose it from your device.
  2. For legacy Japanese ZIP names, choose CP932 before listing the contents. Review the filenames, then select the files you need.
  3. Extract the selection and save the results. If your browser starts a download, check your downloads folder for the files.

Where your files go

Karuzip serves the page and the tools it needs to run. The browser reads your archive locally. The bytes sent counter refers to your file data. Cancelling a running operation discards its partial results.

How to create a ZIP

Switch to Create ZIP and choose your files. Deflate compresses them, while Store keeps their original bytes without compression. Enter a name ending in .zip, create the archive and save it. New ZIP filenames use UTF-8.

Supported formats

ZIP files can be listed, tested, extracted and created. Supported 7z archives can be listed, tested and extracted. The browser tool does not create 7z archives or handle encrypted ZIPs, split archives or RAR extraction.

For a larger or password-protected archive on Windows, see how to open a password-protected ZIP or how to open a 7z file.

Browser limits

Inputs may be up to 16 MiB each and 32 MiB in total. An archive can contain up to 512 entries, with a folder depth of 16, an expansion ratio up to 200×, and a processing limit of 60 seconds. Processing stops if a limit is exceeded.
